Church Reservation:
Who can be Married at the Church:
At least one of the engaged couple, either bride or the groom, Must be baptized a Roman Catholic
Required Documents:
Prenuptial (Form A) forms sighed by both bride and groom (in the presence of a Priest/Deacon).
Witness Forms (Form B) signed by someone 18 year or older for the bride and groom (in the presence of a Priest/Deacon).
Baptismal Certificate ( not the original; a newly issued certificate- for Catholics as well as those baptized in another Christian Faith – To be dated no more then 6 months prior to the wedding).
Certificates of Marriage Preparation Programs in which the couple has participated.
If one of the parties is a non-Catholic or not baptized they have to request DISPENSATION or PERMISSION from their own diocese.
If needed, a diocesan issued statement saying that a previous marriage has been annulled.
ALL THE ABOVE DOCUMENTS ARE TO BE SENT TO ST. JOAN OF ARC CHURCH, YOUNTVILLE AT LEAST 2 MONTHS PRIOR TO THE WEDDING

Exciting news! On April 22, 2019, Bishop Vasa promulgated (“made public”) the newly updated Marriage Preparation Policy for the Diocese of Santa Rosa. The Marriage and Family Life Office had been directed by Bishop Vasa to develop an updated Marriage Preparation Policy to help guide engaged couples as they prepare for the joy and beauty of the Sacrament of Marriage in the Catholic Church. The updated policy contains some exciting new components and tools to aid in the formation of engaged couples.
Although the updated policy was signed and made public on April 22, 2019, the fully implemented effective date was January 1, 2020.
